Lab Experiment Response
In this lab we learned about how acidic conditions affect protien digestion. There were four test tubes , A, B,C,D . A and D really didn't do anything because there was pepsin in the test tube so therefore it was hard for the eggs to digest. The eggs were cut up into equal cubes. Then we had to add three eggs into each test tube. After we add the pepsin which didn't do anything to the eggs, we poured hydrochloric acid. hydrochloric acid is a strong acid which made the eggs digest fast and easy. After we looked at the colors of the egg white and it was yellow the first day, day two it was the same color. Lastly we had to take a little strip of litmus paper and place it into the tubes. The only results that we got was from test tube D. test tube D had the hydrochloric acid in it so then the litmus paper turned pink. When we took the litmus paper out of test tube C. There was no results because there was pepsin inside of the tube and the pepsin didn't do anything because the pepsin is like a powder so there was no reaction.
