Class Response

In our science class, we have been doing punnet squares and have been learning about genotypes and phenotypes. A genotype is the genetic makeup of an organism. A phenotype is any observable characteristic or trait of an organism. For example, if two hamsters mate and are having a child. If one of the hamsters had one parent that was white homozygous recessive and one that was brown heterozygous. Therefore, the genotype are 50% heterozygous & 50% homozygous recessive. The phenotype are 50% brown & 50% white. The allels combination of their children would be H h H h hh hh. This is what we have been recently studying in science class.
